Summary

The former Odlums building is a six-storey red-brick mill and warehouse complex on Cork's South Docks, built in 1892 as the Cork National Flour Mills and substantially rebuilt in 1933–34; it is one of the most prominent survivors of the city's Victorian and early-20th-century port-industrial heritage. [1][2] Flour milling ceased in 2009 and the building has stood vacant and increasingly derelict since, with reports of structural instability and props to the rear. [3][13] It is now part of the wider Kennedy Quay regeneration: the Land Development Agency and O'Callaghan Properties have announced a first phase of 103 A-rated riverside apartments beside the former mill, with construction due to start in the coming weeks and an estimated 27-month programme that could see first residents by the end of 2028.
