NIAH record 14403801, recorded 12 May 2002, identifies the building as Tara Post Office at Ross Crossroads, Ross, Co. Meath.
- Original use: House. Previous name: Tara Post Office.
- Date range: 1800–1840; the description estimates construction at c.1820.
- Rating: Regional. Special interest: Architectural and Social.
- Survey coordinates: 294110, 258443. The record does not specify the coordinate system; independently confirm the present-day site match before relying on them.
- Recorded condition: The survey describes the former thatched house as in ruins, with remains of a hipped corrugated-iron roof, rubble stone and some mud walls, remnants of render, timber sash windows with stone sills, and remains of outbuildings. Its appraisal notes surviving original materials and the building’s historical contribution to the rural community.
These are survey observations recorded in 2002, not confirmation of present-day condition, occupancy, ownership, or legal status. The record alone does not establish that the current security flags apply today.
