The database description places the structure on/off North Road, south-east of Phoenix Park School. Phoenix Park Specialist School (formerly the Park National School, built c.1847–1848 for the children of park employees) is on North Road, Dublin 8, Eircode D08 V098 [12][13] (High).

The structure is confirmed as the Constable’s Lodge (NIAH reg. 50060043):

Detached two-bay two-storey former constable’s lodge built 1872–77 to designs by Enoch Trevor Owen, with a steeply pitched pyramidal-roofed corner entrance tower and lead ball finial, canted bay to the front (south-west) elevation and single-storey flat-roofed extensions to the rear; ITM coordinates 311479, 236501. Recorded as “now in use as house” and retaining many original features (two-over-two timber sliding sash windows, original vertically-sheeted timber door, and matching cast-iron railings and gates) at the NIAH survey (recorded 25 August 2014) [3] (High).

The nearby Park Superintendent’s / Park Bailiff’s Lodge (NIAH 50060029) and the “Concrete Lodge” on the North Road are separate structures and are not the subject of this record.
